An NIV expert review gives a DIY applicant a professional second look at the work they have already prepared. Before you submit, can a reader connect your achievement claims to clear, reliable evidence? Do the forms and documents tell the same story?

WiseKangaroo’s NIV services include an A$990 including GST Expert Application Review for a prepared NIV EOI or visa application. The starting point is your existing material, with the stage and scope agreed before work begins.

First, identify your NIV stage

The National Innovation visa has an invitation process before the visa application. A strong-looking CV is not a substitute for understanding which stage you are preparing.

Your stageWhat to have ready for a scoped review
Preparing an expression of interestYour draft EOI responses, CV and evidence supporting the claims you propose to submit. Include the documents required by the current EOI instructions.
Invited to apply for the visaYour invitation and deadline, prepared application forms, achievement evidence and the relevant nominator material, alongside the other required documents.

Home Affairs explains that an EOI is not a visa application. For an invited applicant, the visa application must be lodged within 60 days of invitation. Flag that deadline when enquiring; review timing must be agreed rather than assumed.

Our National Innovation visa guide and NIV priorities guide provide context. A review is a chance to examine your prepared material against the relevant stage, rather than treat every NIV enquiry as the same task.

Connect each claim to evidence

Build a simple claim-and-evidence list. For every major claim, identify what happened, your personal contribution and the document that supports it. Separate your own description from independent recognition or corroboration.

A researcher might have a publication, a citation record and evidence explaining their contribution. A founder might have company milestones alongside records that distinguish personal achievements from the company’s wider work. These are preparation examples, not a checklist that makes someone eligible.

Make it easy to trace dates, names and figures. If a CV gives one employment period and a supporting letter gives another, resolve the discrepancy or explain it. If an award is described as international, identify the evidence for its reach rather than relying on the label.

This is also a good point to remove repeated documents and identify gaps. An attractive presentation cannot supply missing evidence. A candid question about a weakly supported claim is more useful than overstating it.

What the A$990 review includes

The published NIV review offer includes a Registered Migration Agent’s review of prepared EOI or visa forms and supporting evidence, identification of inconsistencies and missing information, a lodgement-readiness assessment, and consolidated recommendations and corrections. It includes one follow-up review after recommended changes.

You can keep control of preparation and lodgement while obtaining a clear list of issues to address. The standard review does not include preparation, evidence creation, lodgement or ongoing representation. It does not promise to find a nominator, create an evidence strategy from scratch, rewrite the submission or provide unlimited follow-up.

The price is for the agreed review scope. Do not assume one A$990 engagement covers both the EOI and the later invited application. Government and third-party charges are additional; work outside the standard scope needs separate agreement. See the application review service and professional fees.

What changes at the invited stage?

Bring the actual invitation and the version of the EOI you submitted. The visa-stage evidence should support the achievements on which the invitation was based and address the visa requirements.

Home Affairs requires completed Form 1000 nomination material with the visa application. Tell us whether that material is ready and what you need checked. Nomination and review are separate matters; neither is a promise of a visa outcome.

If you have not yet submitted the EOI, follow the current attachment instructions closely. Do not assume you can repair a submitted EOI later by adding a new evidence bundle. Home Affairs’ after-submission guidance explains the restrictions on updates and new EOIs.

Ask for the review that fits your next step

In your enquiry, identify EOI or invited visa stage, what you have prepared, the main questions and any deadline. Do not send account passwords. We confirm suitability, documents, scope, fee and timing in writing before work starts.

Ready for a second look at your DIY NIV material? Request the NIV expert review. If you need preparation or representation instead, say so and ask about a separate Full Service engagement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request a review of my NIV EOI before I am invited?

Yes. The published NIV review offer covers a prepared EOI or visa application. Tell us which stage you need reviewed; the documents, fee and scope are agreed before engagement.

Does A$990 cover both the EOI and invited visa application?

Do not assume both stages are included in a single review. The published offer is a review of a prepared EOI or visa application, with one follow-up after recommended changes. Confirm the specific stage and scope in writing.

Will you find a nominator or rewrite my application?

Nominator search, application preparation, drafting and lodgement are not promised in the standard review. If you need work beyond reviewing your prepared material, ask about a separate scope or Full Service support.

Does a review improve my chance of an invitation or guarantee a grant?

The review identifies gaps and inconsistencies within the supplied material and agreed scope. It does not promise a nomination, invitation or visa grant. The nominator provides the nomination; Home Affairs decides invitations and visa applications.

General information, checked 28 October 2026. Requirements and advice depend on your circumstances. Check current Home Affairs instructions before acting.
