October has brought some lovely news for our clients: permanent residence for a family, a parent’s Visitor visa grant, a positive skills assessment and a fresh invitation to a citizenship ceremony.
Behind each result was a different piece of work. Sometimes it meant helping a client explain their experience clearly. Sometimes it meant picking up the phone or writing to the right team when a matter needed follow-up.
Here are four stories we’re pleased to share.
Permanent residence for a family, with support beyond the grant
A subclass 190 family application we handled resulted in permanent residence for two family members this month. A wonderful milestone, and the start of a new chapter together.
During the application process, we followed up on outstanding police checks and confirmed they had been uploaded, keeping the supporting evidence moving after lodgement.
Our work continued after the grants arrived. We provided tailored post-grant guidance, explaining state nomination commitments and covering practical travel and passport arrangements.
Those details matter when a family is making decisions about its future. The grant is something to celebrate; understanding how to manage the next steps helps the family move forward with a clearer plan.
For readers at the same stage, our 190 post-grant checklist is a useful place to start.
A parent’s Visitor visa: following up once biometrics were complete
One parent’s subclass 600 Visitor visa application had been held up while the biometrics check was pending.
Once that check was completed, we called the Department to follow up on the application. The grant arrived a few days later.
Our involvement continued after lodgement. When the outstanding check was complete, we took the additional step of contacting the Department rather than simply waiting for the next update.
For the family, the welcome news was straightforward: the parent’s Visitor visa had been granted, allowing them to plan the visit around the arrangements in the grant notice.
An urgent skills assessment: a positive outcome within 4 business days
Another client had a deadline approaching for a planned subclass 186 visa application and needed their VETASSESS skills assessment urgently.
We prioritised the case and worked to make the submission decision-ready. That meant helping the client clearly show their personal contribution to projects through their portfolio, supported by evidence verifying their employment history.
The assessment was submitted on 21 October 2026, and VETASSESS issued a positive outcome on 26 October 2026: within 4 business days. No request for further documents came to our team before the decision.
For the client, this was an important result at a time when the approaching visa application deadline made every day matter. For us, it was a welcome outcome after prioritising the preparation and getting the supporting evidence ready for assessment.
A fresh citizenship ceremony invitation after a missed ceremony
Another client had already received citizenship approval but had missed their earlier ceremony. The next task was to arrange a new opportunity to attend.
We wrote to the Victorian ceremonies team to follow up on rescheduling. A new official invitation arrived a few days later.
That gave the client a ceremony to look forward to and a clear next step towards making the citizenship pledge.
It was a particularly welcome piece of October news. Our support continued beyond the application decision, helping the client follow through on the ceremony arrangements still ahead.
Helping you take the next step
These are the moments we enjoy sharing: a family reaching permanent residence, a parent receiving permission to visit, professional experience earning a positive assessment, and a client looking forward to their citizenship ceremony.
They also reflect the practical side of our work: preparing evidence carefully, explaining what comes next and following up when something needs attention.
